Collective intelligence?

Warning, Borg alert!

Collective intelligence? Warning, Borg alert!

While I was watching The Day The Earth Stood Still at the movies the other day, I wrote down a sentence that popped up on the screen to look it up later:

"Inventas vitam iuvat excoluisse per artes"

I could write down only the first few words, but once at home I only had to type "Inventas" in the Firefox Google search box and i got in the fist place a suggestion for the whole sentence!

And even without having to go to any site, from the first two pages of the search results, I got to know that that means:

"Let us improve life through science and art"
and you can say it:

"Los inventos mejoran la vida, y esta embellece gracias al arte"
in Spanish

or:

"Må vi förbättra livet genom vetenskap och konst"
in Swedish

... and it is a Latin phrase taken from Virgil's Aeneid.
... and it is an inscription on Nobel Medals (that was the case in the movie.)

And as I said, i got that intel without having to go to any site, and it took about 40 seconds.
I couldn't have made it in 40 days 20 years ago.

Great Maker! (cit.)

Can you imagine what we could do with a brain implant connected with the Net?
:-)
