The synthesizer: the most ancient of Japanese instruments |
I'm reading Schismatrix, the science fiction novel by Bruce Sterling, Italy's most famous sci-fi writer. Well, ok, he was born in Brownsville, Texas, but he recently moved to Torino, Italy ... pfff... why do you always nitpick at everything I say?
Anyway, after a few pages you can read:
"The air was filled with the tones of the most ancient of Japanese instruments: the synthesizer".
:-) What better excuse for listening to some ancient music by Ryuichi Sakamoto? Oh, did I say Sakamoto? I meant Jill Jones.
