14-year-old hit by a meteorite

So unlikely as to be nearly impossible

14-year-old hit by a meteorite. So unlikely as to be nearly impossible

In June, 2009, a very unlucky German teenager was hit by a meteorite. Or maybe he was very lucky, as he survived with only a three-inch long scar on his hand.

The meteorite was the size of a pea, and crashed to Earth in Essen, Germany, leaving a foot-wide crater.

On the Telegraph:
14-year-old hit by 30,000 mph space meteorite

And on Wired:
Meteorite Strikes Teen’s Hand; He Survives
