The inspiration for Asterix and Obelix's village |

Erquy is a beautiful fishing port in the Côtes-d'Armor department in Bretagne in northwestern France, with a main central beach surrounding a harbour.
Erquy was the inspiration for Asterix and Obelix's village in the famous comic strips written by René Goscinny and illustrated by Albert Uderzo.
There are 10 beaches in total within a 10 minute drive of Erquy, perfect for building sandcastles and exploring rock pools :-)
The coastline, with its 15km of coastal paths, is particularly popular with walkers.
The marker on this map shows the plane's position.
