Places - The Ecole Navale

On the opposite side of the bay of Brest |

French Navy officers are trained at the École Navale, the French Naval Academy, founded in 1830.
The École Navale has always been in Brest. During World War II it was destroyed by bombing raids, then it was moved on the opposite side of the bay of Brest, where it is now.
Not far from here there is the "Île Longue" (the “Long Island” - in the top-right corner of the image above here) a peninsula that is base for the French ballistic missile submarines. It is maybe the most secretive and heavily defended place in France.
The marker on this map shows the plane's position.
