Knut is a polar bear born in captivity at the Berlin Zoo on December 5th, 2006. The "Knutmania" exploded after his "debut" on March 23rd, 2007. Knuth was rejected by his mother (a former circus performer) at birth, and is the first polar bear cub to survive in more than thirty years, for the Berlin Zoo.
