Landing on Mars. Phoenix Mars Mission is is scheduled to touch down on Sunday

23 May 2008 - Launched in August 2007, the Phoenix Mars Mission is just days away from landing on Mars, after nearly 10 months speeding across 422 million miles (679 million km).

The spacecraft is now on track for its destination in the Martian arctic.

The lander is scheduled to touch down on the Red Planet on Sunday, May 25th. NASA TV coverage will begin at 6:30 p.m. (3:30 p.m. Pacific), with landing on Mars scheduled at approximately 7:53 p.m. (4:53 p.m. Pacific).
